Sanur is a lovable destination, especially for families with kids (especially from Europe!). Located just a 30-minute drive from Bali’s international airport, Sanur is easy to reach and a great base for exploring other popular tourist destinations such as Seminyak, Nusa Dua and Ubud. Sanur has all the modern conveniences you could wish for, including shops, beach clubs, trendy coffee bars, ice cream parlours, supermarkets, restaurants — make sure you visit the famous Mak Beng restaurant — and bars. Yet the atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful.

Away from the hordes of tourists and traffic jams, people in Sanur like to ride their bicycles (even the locals!) or stroll around in flip-flops, walking from their villas to the beach or supermarket and then home for a swim in the pool. Ideal! Sanur’s golden beaches are beautiful, offering awe-inspiring views of the nearby islands of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida. While Seminyak is famous for its sunsets, Sanur boasts the most magnificent sunrises, which you won’t want to miss! The beaches have calm, clear waters most of the time, which are perfectly safe for children. If you’re looking for more action, there are also plenty of water sports activities!

Unlike Seminyak and Canggu, Sanur Beach has lots of shade, as well as plenty of beachfront restaurants and bars – you could easily spend all day here and never get bored! Popular with European families and retirees, Sanur is a great place for a relaxed beach holiday close to the airport.
