Nusa Penida is an island (nusa) located southeast of Bali, part of Klungkung Regency , Bali, Indonesia, separated from Bali by the Badung Strait . It is also surrounded by the smaller islands of Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Lembongan.

The coastal villages of Nusa Penida along the northern coast are flat land with a slope of 0–3  % at an elevation of 0–268 meters above sea level.

Meanwhile, there are no rivers at all in Nusa Penida District. Its water sources are springs and rainwater collected by local residents in reservoirs. Klungkung Regency has a tropical climate. The wet and dry months differ significantly between Nusa Penida District and mainland Klungkung Regency.

Nusa Penida District comprises three islands: Nusa Penida Island, Lembongan Island, and Ceningan Island, and consists of 16 administrative villages. Nusa Penida Island can be reached from four dock locations.
